It all started with an idea…

How can we involve children in a community project here at the Trails Center and create an impetus for outdoor activity? The answer? Gnomes, gnomes and more gnomes! Talented local carpenters joined forces with the Rangeley Lakes Regional School and the Gnome Home Roam was born! Over 30 gnomes (and counting) created by RLRS student artists reside amongst the trails in homes crafted by Marty V and his fellow carpenters.

Grab a gnome roam map at the yurt and let the fun begin!

Gnomes village square

The Village is our most concentrated population of gnome homes. It’s a short hike away from the yurt parking lot.

GNOME HOME ROAM MAP

Gnome Home Roam maps are available at the kiosk box by the yurt! In each gnome home you will find a special paper puncher, punch the corresponding name once you find the gnome home. Leave the paper puncher in the home for others to complete their maps and please latch the door.
